Independent physical commodity trader Alkagesta dispatched a delegation to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Aviation Energy Forum in Paris, held from May 12 to May 14, 2026. The executive group was led by Chief Executive Officer Orkhan Rustamov, alongside representatives from the firm's business development, finance, and operations divisions, including Alasgar Yusifli, Asad Huseynov, and Alasgar Guliyev.

The three-day gathering serves as a focal point for airline operators, fuel suppliers, trading entities, logistics specialists, and policy authorities to address emerging commercial and operational developments across the global aviation fuel market. Regional Supply Chains and Market Dynamics

A primary area of focus during the forum centered on Western Europe's changing jet fuel logistics environment. With regional refining throughput declining, the market is experiencing an increasing reliance on external imports. Industry discussions also analyzed how geopolitical shifts and worldwide refinery rationalization are altering traditional trade routes for aviation middle distillates.

In parallel with supply chain realignment, conference proceedings evaluated the regulatory and economic aspects of decarbonization. Participants examined commercial frameworks surrounding sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blending mandates, compliance expenditures, and the integration of standardized digital operational tools to streamline fueling processes.

The company's commercial expansion includes an agreement to deliver Jet A-1 fuel blended with SAF through NATO's Central European Pipeline System (CEPS). This distribution arrangement provides fuel supply to airport locations across Belgium and Germany, supporting regional jet fuel availability amid shifting European energy flows.
